The Washington Capitals and United Heroes League are hosting a Military Kids Hockey Clinic and Equipment Giveaway!
Who – 48 Military kids ages 8 to 12.
What – Hockey clinic with surprise gear give-away. Kids will receive a brand new pair of Bauer skates, Bauer hockey bag, mouth guard, bracelet, Bauer shirt, and other hockey items.
** We would like the surprise gear give=away to be a surprise for the kids!! So parents just tell the kids “hey we’re going to go check out the Caps practice rink and we might get a chance to skate so bring your gear”**
Where – MedStar Capitals Iceplex – 627 N Glebe Rd SUITE 800, Arlington, VA 22203
When – Saturday November 2nd, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Why – Thanks for their parents service!
Additional scope & timeline:
The goal is two-fold…
1. We want to give military kids who are active in hockey an opportunity to receive a new pair of skates, some Bauer apparel, and a great experience.
2. We will also provide a mini-clinic taught by Capitals’ coaching staff.
8:30 a.m. – military family check in / waiver collection
9:00 a.m. – Kids head to locker room
9:10 a.m. – 9:30 a.m – Kids prep / change into gear for clinic
** Very important that kids bring their entire set of hockey equipment with them!! **
9:30 a.m- 10:30 a.m. – On ice clinic led by Caps community coaching staff
Drills run by Capitals community coaching staff
10:35 a.m. – Group pic on the ice
10:40 a.m. – kids to locker rooms to change out.
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Lunch on the mezzanine for families provided by Caps
12:00p.m. – Dismal
