Veteran’s Showcase

 

Showcase Background: 

 Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU), the Official Military Appreciation Partner of the National Hockey League®, has teamed up with United Heroes League (UHL) for the 2022 Veteran’s Showcase.

The Veteran’s Showcase will take place February 25-27th in Nashville, TN, home of the 2022 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series™. The showcase tournament will take place in conjunction with the Stadium Series event, celebrating our nation’s military and the great sport of hockey at the highest level.

Navy Federal Credit Union is looking for four (4) military veteran hockey teams from across the country to participate in this all-expense paid invitational tournament.  Please complete the submission form for your teams’ chance to play in this once-in-a-lifetime experiential event as a thank you for your service and sacrifice to our nation.

 

Selection Process:
Please complete the questions at the bottom of the page and click submit.  UHL and NFCU will collect submissions through 11:59 PM EST on January 12th, 2022. Teams selected to participate will be notified by January 17th, 2022.

UHL and NFCU will consider a number of factors when selecting each of the four teams including but not limited to; team background, military service, geography, and competition level. UHL and NFCU at their sole discretion, reserve the right to administer all aspects of this tournament, including but not limited to; the selection of participating teams, the right to change venues and/or the schedule of events, and the ability of a team and/or individual to participate in any event.

Notification:

Teams selected to participate in the Veteran’s Showcase will be notified by January 17th, 2022.  Selected teams consisting of a maximum of 15 players (including goaltenders) will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Nashville, TN from February 25th-27th, 2022.  The experience will include the following for each participating player:

  • Roundtrip airfare and ground transportation upon arrival in Nashville for all sponsored events.
  • Three (3) days and two (2) nights of hotel accommodations.
  • Welcome reception Friday evening with dinner included.
  • Round Robin tournament play on Saturday, February 26th prior to the Stadium Series game. Each team will play 2 games.
  • Commemorative jersey for each player.
  • Tickets to attend the 2022 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series™ featuring the Nashville Predators and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Rules/Legal

All participants agree to conduct themselves to the highest standards of sportsmanship and ethical conduct during the tournament, at sponsored events, and throughout the sponsored weekend. A team shall consist of a maximum of fifteen (15) players, including goaltenders, who are physically able to play in the tournament and only rostered players will be provided the tournament experience.  All players must have served honorably in the United States Armed Forces, or be currently serving members. Civilian roster spots are not allowed.  Any un-used roster spots may not be filled with non-playing individuals.  All players must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of the tournament to participate.  All players must consent to allow United Heroes League and Navy Federal Credit Union, at their sole discretion, to use any images or videos associated with this event in any form or type of media and other materials without compensation.  If selected to participate in the tournament, each participant agrees to and will be required to sign a Waiver of Release of Liability and Photo/Media Release for UHL, NFCU, the National Hockey League (NHL) and any of its subsidiaries, prior to the tournament weekend for eligibility.

Covid-19

Navy Federal Credit Union, Bespoke Sports & Entertainment and United Heroes League are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all guests and participants in the Veteran’s Showcase.  All contest rules and experiential components are subject to change without notice based on Covid-19 protocols set forth by local, state, or federal government agencies, the NHLPA®, the NHL® and any subsidiaries thereof.  Failure to comply with any Covid-19 protocol requests including, but not limited to, proof of full vaccination status, daily screening and testing, wearing of approved masks when required, social distancing, and any and all other requests designed to mitigate Covid-19 exposure are ground for disqualification from consideration for selection as a winner, and/or immediate removal from the event(s) even after being selected as a winner.  The Veteran’s Showcase initiative is subject to cancellation at any time without notice due to Covid-19.

Navy Federal Credit Union, Bespoke Sports & Entertainment and United Heroes League reserve the right to cancel this event at any point leading up to and during the event. If such cancellation is executed, selected teams will not incur any additional costs or expenses for services and experiences included for participating players and teams.
